HOW IT BEGAN

LM began in 2021 with the vision of one creative furthering her reach by collaborating with other talented and like minded craftsmen. A community was born and went from one, to a handful and now is comprised of dozens of Makers working together to promote their unique quality items and build their small businesses.

What Sets Us Apart

LM members work together to build one another up. We collaborate and show up as a crew. Our markets are well organized and each Maker is part of a whole vs individual. Our retail locations are carefully maintained on a regular basis and continually overseen, ensuring visible interest and quality of product. Coaching is offered to Makers if their products are not selling. Our saying is that we want their items to "SELL, not sit". We offer our members community, collaboration, and small business workshops aimed at helping them succeed.

MINI MAKERS

Our members believe in supporting the next generation of creatives and entrepreneurs. We offer them free booths at our event and coordinate with the families to create a positive experience.

Founder & President

Caasi Dickens

After getting involved in “online popups” on Facebook when pandemic restrictions started to ease, Caasi decided to give an in-person version a try and create a community hub for makers like herself. The first in-person Local Makers market was held in summer 2021. From there her vision expanded with the help of the Local Maker community.

Caasi now owns a retail store Local Whimsy downtown Gig Harbor with business partner Salena Ausburn. Visit to find locally made and inspired goods.

Operations

EriN Day

Erin is a maker and master organizer of all things retail with the Local Maker group. She has been with the group since the beginning supporting the vision of the group with many behind the scenes details to keep the daily operations moving.

Assistant

CHARMAINE WIGHAM

Charmaine serves the Local Makers group by communicating to members, promoting our events, and serving our community behind the scenes with the many administrative tasks it takes to keep our vision moving along.
